This year I’m advising first year computer science and software development students at Aalborg University. Half of their time will be spend on project work. The outcome of these projects will be a report and a program. This year some of the general topics are: e-election, computer-supported cooperative work, and how IT can support students to eat healthy food. The report is going to serve as the foundation for a programming project in which the students will work on implementing some idea or feature they found during the initial research about their subject. After the first month I can truly say that working with students is an interesting and not least challenging experience. One thing is for sure, advising students is definitely one of the major milestones in my academic life in good and bad 🙂 and is a subject I will continue to blog about.
